The American Expeditionary Force headquarters reports steady rain in Chaumont with mud and crowded plans for a Christmas dinner near Langres for President Wilson and Mr. Wilson. Berlin reports military leaders in Germany have endorsed an agreed plan with the people's government to divide Germany and Austria into seven republics with Berlin as the confederal president's seat. Upper Saxony Dresden capital. Lower Saxony Hanover. Rhineland Coblang. Swabia Neckerland Stuttgart. Bavaria with Munich. Austria named Alpiland Vienna capital. Brandenburg to annex Prussia Posen Silesia to form Qoderland with Sebrepute as capital.
Boston December 24 Lieutenant Colonel Charles W Whittlesey commander of the Lost Battalion received a Congressional Medal on Boston Common during exercises. Major General Clarence R Edwards presented it with Rear Admiral Spencer S Wood and other officers in attendance as a crowd cheered the famed commander who told the Germans to go to hell when urged to surrender.
