The soldiers named Roy S Smithson Alderman West Virginia Sergt Walker Millburn Oklahoma William B Harrison Centerville Tennessee and Harry Cohen Brooklyn fired on patrons and cut telephone lines before fleeing.
Capt Woodrow Wilson Woodbridge 27, cousin of the President, and a University of Denver graduate, is listed as slightly wounded by General Pershing. He was an attorney in Denver before joining the Colorado regiment in 1917 and earned a commission at Fort Leavenworth. His younger brother was also slightly wounded on the western front.

A blaze at an Oklahoma insane asylum early this morning claimed more than fifty inmate lives. Among the victims are two score children, as rescue workers battled the flames and authorities investigated the fire’s origin.
A blaze at the state insane asylum in Norman Oklahoma started about four o'clock this morning in the dining room and destroyed three ward buildings. More than 50 inmates died including 37 children. Many patients were burned or injured and escapees must be counted before final death toll. Loss from the fire is about $20 000.
Washington reports nearly an entire German U-boat crew will be brought to the United States as prisoners of war. The U-58 crew, captured by destroyers Fanning and Kitchin, totals four officers one warrant officer and 33 enlisted men. They will be sent to a detention camp pending the end of the war.

Paris officials report American and French troops repulsed strong German attacks in Brule Wood near Aremont forest during the night. They retook a trench position, captured seventy prisoners, and mentions ongoing fighting in the Picardy front with Hangard En Santerre and nearby cemeteries recaptured.
