VFW Acquires New Home at Hoosick FallsHOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -Hoosick Valley Post, VFW has recently acquired a new home, the former Parsons Street School on Clay Hill In First Ward.The schoolhouse, which was sold at public auction to the Nancy Shoe Company for $1,200 In 1965, has been turned over as a gift to the local post.Completion of the transaction was announced at a recent meeting by Commander George M. Driscoll. The deed was transferred by the owners to Past Cmdr. and present Post Adj. Theodore Anderson through Atty. John S. Davison.Members of the organization will volunteer their services In restoring the four-room building for use as their headquarters.Cmdr. Driscoll reports that It may be fall before the work will be completed to allow for formal dedication and use. The VFW has been holding meetings at Frank’s Restaurant and St. Stanislaws Hall.Members have been discussing formation of an auxiliary to share in the venture and enhance social affairs of the organization.*r nam-wVETERANS RECEIVE GIFT — The former Parsons Street School on Clay Hill in Hoosick Falls has been given by its recent owners, the former Nancy Shoe Company, to Hoosick Valley Post, VFW for headquarters.
