Wage Increase Announced for Idaho Mines Workers

Miners timbermen muckers and surface workers across district mines will receive new daily wages plus bonuses effective next month. Miners earn 5.00 plus 0.50 bonus. timbermen 5.50. muckers 4.50. surface workers 4.25. A 0.50 daily bonus applies to mill men. The pay gap between miners and muckers widens to 50 cents daily, intended to spur advancement and relieve labor shortages.

Powder price cuts by 2 cents per pound across all grades

Wallace Powder Company announces a flat reduction of 2 cents per pound or $2 per 100 pounds on all mining explosive and stamping powder grades effective yesterday. New 50 pound cases of 40 per cent gelatin and other grades list prices between $19.40 and $22.90 per 100 pounds, with 20 per cent stumping powder at $16.90 to $18.15 per 100 pounds. This marks the third cut in explosives pricing this year as freight rates drop and pre war levels near.

It aims to reach the vein about 150 feet farther at an estimated 200 feet depth, with surface shafts and open cuts showing ore and strong prospect evidence. Hoover Goes East to Visit Father in Canton Ohio

Galena Mining company begins raising near midway of ore shoot to prove ore extent above tunnel level 400 feet drifting stops though ore shown in face includes 8 inches of Dinhera.
