Sterling Silver Cuts Promising Stringers at Big Creek
Sterling Silver Mountain reports progress on the Big Creek project with 4 crosscut tunnel reaching about 500 feet to cut the Sterling vein. The crosscut has extended over 700 feet and several promising stringers, rich in silver, have been found. Superintendent Morrell says the formation and stringers align with nearby producing mines and a main lode may appear soon. Nearby Yankee Bay and Polaris groups adjoin, and high water washed out part of the main road near Yankee Bay, causing temporary disruption but not altering the optimistic outlook for activity this year. The Bunker Hill mine advances, while Sunshine (Yankee Bay) shows steady gains under Merriam.
