Success crosscut at 860 Level aims for large ore at Success mine

Crosscutting to the Ore Body on the 860 Level at the Success mine targets the big new ore body about 160 feet below current operations on the 700 level. Management expects ore between 60 and 100 feet with strong likelihood of a sizeable, rich body. Ongoing development on the 700 may yield further disclosures as the Success mill runs full with improved water conditions and no major interruptions expected.

Charles G. Taylor, manager of Giant Ledge Mining, confirms sale of the company's property to L. O. Tollefson of Spokane who will take over via purchase of the outstanding stock. Tollefson plans eastern development funding and a full development program. Taylor will retire from management after February 1 and return to Spokane to rest in California with his family.

Wallace adopts fee for tourist camp to fund maintenance

After three years of free use Wallace will start charging for the tourist camp. Mayor Hugh Toole backs a 50 cent first night and 25 cent subsequent night fee, with expected toll of about $500 from 2000 cars, a level seen as insufficient but workable by city and forest service officials.

Broken Hill Lead-Silver Ore Crosscut Reveals Rich Vein

From Spokane reports the Broken Hill property shows a large lead-silver ore body discovered by crosscut at 200 feet depth. Mining engineer Max J. Dunn, who discovered the site, said the crosscut reached the vein about 10 feet from the shaft, exposing milling quality ore. The Broken Hill claim lies in Sanders county Montana near Heron siding on the Northern Pacific with much stock held in Mullan.

Western Union Mine Ore Shoot Shows Strong Richness

Reports from the Western Union mine indicate the ore shoot shows stronger and richer ore in drifts 60 feet below the main tunnel level. The west drift reveals a near full face of high grade lead silver ore about 150 feet from the foot wall, while the east drift shows a comparable high grade showing. The overall display is highly satisfactory and suggests the ore shoot extends to great depth.

Ajax ore cars land big order from Butte mine

The Coeur d Alene Hardware and Foundry Co reports a 40 car order for 85 cubic foot Ajax automatic side dump ore cars from Butte and Superior Mining. Other orders total 62 cars prompting a night shift. The Ajax car was named after the Ajax Mining Co test in Burke's crosscut.

Sherman Lead Company Stockholders Meeting Set

Sherman Lead company stockholders have a annual meeting on February 7 in the Day building at 7:00 p m. The Days own the property near Burke formerly known as Union It joins the Tamarack and Custer on the wear with the eastern end reaching Burke. Previous development in Union tunnel and Hidden Treasure exposed substantial lead silver ore, suggesting potential production if metal prices rise.

Amazon Dixie Mill Proves Big Ore Body

Dixie Mining reports a rich ore zone at Amazon Dixie with a 12 to 15 foot wide main shoot and up to 100 feet long. Assays show high silver and lead with notable copper content and projected 70 percent lead and over 20 percent copper concentrate from samples. A 100 ton daily mill is planned with testing at multiple plants to optimize recovery before expansion.
