Richmond Two Shifts In Crosscut Toward Rich Mond Vein
W. L e wis secretary of the Richmond Consolidated mining company reports two shifts are active in the crosscut toward the Richmond vein from the Montana Idaho tunnel. The firm installed a compressor and diesel engine, now using its own power to sustain winter work. Previously the Richmond relied on Idaho Montana power from the neighboring company that used water power for its compressor. The vein is about 1600 feet distant, with over 600 feet already completed.

Giant Ledge Ore Hope From 400 Level Crosscut
Gen. E. Tottenstein reports on November 24 that development on the Giant Ledge 400 level yields promising findings. A 16 inch lead-silver stringer followed a southeast crosscut toward a fissure, with drifting continuing to encounter richer hanging wall mineralization and a potential Monarch vein nearby. Four rounds a day and planned night shift aim to open a major ore body within 30 days.
Callahan Operations Reports Third Quarter Zinc Lead Run
Callahan Zinc Lead company chief John Borg of New York releases the third quarter 1923 report. Production suspended October 1 due to low zinc price and higher winter costs. Development continues at Callahan and Galena with about sixty workers each. Shipments rose from the prior quarter though net value reflected higher costs, with detailed tonnage, ore grades, and metal recoveries disclosed.
