New Hope Mining Eyes Deeper Crosscut Intersecting Three Veins
Eugene Thomas, manager of New Hope Mining, says preliminary work is done to extend a crosscut tunnel 875 feet deeper to reach the original New Hope vein and intersect two additional promising veins. The first vein should be reached about 400 feet ahead at 200 feet depth, with the second about 1,500 feet out. The veins run northerly-southerly and east-west, with the first vein expected to cross the other two on the New Hope ground near Two Mile, about a mile and a half from Osburn. The vein shows continuous mineralization with galena, and the deeper tunnel is anticipated to expose a commercial ore body.

Columbus Mining Vein Drift Details Near East Eagle Creek
Victor Carlson of Columbus Mining company reported in Columbus on Tuesday the drift along the east Eagle creek vein has run in the hanging wall for 145 feet due to a soft, wet vein. A crosscut reached the vein showing a 45 foot divergence. The vein measures seven feet wide, walls well defined. Drift resumed toward the vein with expectation of reaching it in about 150 feet and may continue along the vein if conditions improve. Samples were taken for assay.
