Crosscut Progress At Wilson Mining Near Saltese Montana

A contract to extend the crosscut 200 feet on the Wilson Mining and Smelting property near Sultese Montana was completed recently with another let to likely the same builders. The tunnel has advanced 420 feet and may require nearly 400 more to reach the vein. Lead-silver stringers and about a foot of quartz with scattered galena are now visible, suggesting the vein could be reached sooner. The crosscut lies 1 mile from Saltese on Silver Creek. a future wagon road will shorten travel from Saltese as Big Sunday Creek trail improves.

Restraining Hecla From Star Deal Amid Spokane Court Action

Mrs. Sarah Smith and Eugene Day secured a Spokane Superior Court order restraining Hecla Mining Co its officers and directors from pursuing the Star purchase with Bunker Hill Sullivan.
