Lion escapes in circus attack at Brune toevertone arena
A lion in a traveling show at Flatbush and Fifth Avenue rampaged through the tent injuring a female performer whose dress was torn. The cage was closed after Prof Nosson and staff subdued the animal with blows and a whip, ending with the lion confined in a secured cage. The beast had been captured in Africa as a four year old and had previously killed a lion tamer in London.
