Science School Opens With Bright Prospects This Fall

Science school opens Wednesday September 20 with renewed facilities and a refined student body. The building upgrades include a rearranged library and a forthcoming mechanical building with machines for practical courses. Dormitories will improve student comfort and offer affordable tuition later.

The Ideal Cold Storage Creamery Begins Operations Soon

The Ideal Cold Storage plans a new creamery building and will start the first churning Monday. Cream shipments will be arranged from rail points including Minot with price tied to eastern butter markets. The firm will buy eggs butter and poultry to establish a cash market for farmers surplus produce. A larger building is planned for spring to meet expected growth.

City Hall Fire Destroys Bell Tower and Blacksmith Shop

Firefighters battled a Saturday morning blaze in the City Hall bell tower sparked by the nearby blacksmith shop fire on Fourth Street. The frame hall was damaged beyond repair, the shop damaged, and city officials foresee new quarters and a larger city hall built on a quarter block to prevent future fires.
