A large crowd witnessed the baseball game between Fargo and Wahpeton at the city park. The contest drew local fans and highlighted regional competition as both teams vied for bragging rights and a test of early season form.
Wahpeton tops Fargo Independents 4 to 2 in a closely contested game. Hobza pitched well with few safe hits, while Red Hobman led the home team with a long third inning drive and stole two bases. An umpire call in the first inning and a rock-hard eighth inning kept the crowd tense. A player collision briefly paused play but no lasting injuries were reported.
A Fargo team game drew about 600 spectators with lively crowd reactions. The weather was uncertain but the crowd enjoyed a smooth event in a well arranged grandstand and bleachers. Players, fans, and local officials praised the effort while noting a minor pitcher's box angle and a promise of a first class baseball article.
Special meeting July 27 1907 to review bids for Sewer District No 4. Mayor Bberley and council members Forkner Schneller Robinson Voves Gilles Gillen Hess opened bids from Jones & Roderick James Kennedy and C H Porritt with various pipe sizes and labor costs plus warrants at par 7 percent. Resolution passed to accept Porritt bid and authorize contract. Kennedy and Jones Roderick bids rejected.

They believe his aim is to stay in office and force a Republican third-term nomination.
