Demand for silver dollars surges as officials shuttle orders for 1808 coins and silver certificates. Treasury holds over 10 million in free silver while shipping costs vary by order size. Coinage to continue until stock nears 60 million, with payments limited by law and rising shipments to meet demand.
Captain J. Palmer died at his home after two weeks of illness culminating in pneumonia. A 74 year old Rhode Island native, he resided in the county for 28 years and served as Justice of the Peace. A longtime Republican, he joined the Silver movement and attended the Silver County Convention in Eiko. He was known statewide and affiliated with the Masonic Fraternity. Cap. Palmer was widely mourned by friends. A four room house near Hireshop is for rent.
In Wadaworth Nevada on September 4 188 by the Reverend L Bellam Charles Parke and Birdie B Player are joined in marriage. In Reno Nevada on September 2 1806 the Rev Unxworth joins John G Stayer to Miss Helena K Dawson both of Reno.
