Miners Reject Wage Cut at Comstock Poll
The Virginia City Miners union opened the poll on Saturday and voted to reject reducing wages from 4 to 350 a day by more than two thirds. The outcome was cheered by miners near the hall. The Mechanics union then voted to indefinitely postpone further discussion of the wage issue, aligning with the miners’ stance.
