The funeral of General O C Powning was the largest Reno has seen with many attending from Carson and Virginia. The service at Masonic hall featured a Mas on ceremony led by Robert Lewers and L L Crockett. The procession moved to the cemetery where a quartet sang and fraternal orders paid respects with floral tributes and an honorary pallbearer line. General Powning was remembered as a longtime prominent citizen who left a lasting mark on the community.
