Memorial Day Observance Featured in Main Street Parade

Grand Marshal James Shepley led a line from the Rebekah, Pythian Sisters, Grand Army, Odd Fellows, and Knights of Pythias along Main Street. The procession crossed the river to the cemetery where O’Hummel spoke, a Bugle Blast choir performed, and graves were decorated by committees led by Mrs. Whited, Miss Steele, and others. Mr. Pike’s oration praised care for the graveyard as businesses closed and railroad employees enjoyed a holiday.
