About 150 spectators watched a Sunday baseball game at Herman's plaza between the machinists and boiler makers. The machinists, nicknamed the nut-splitters, suffered a one-sided loss as the boilermakers dominated 24 to 8, with Fred Geogg and Fred Kuck excelling in the battery and Elwood Beemer a standout on the field.
