Sweden Candles Made by Science Not Dipped Methods
W. 8. Harwood notes in St. Nicholas that Swedish candles are produced on scientific principles after centuries of experience. Tallow arrives from long journeys, stearin from various sources, and a factory process uses molded sections, threaded wicks, and automated trimming. A Swedish factory worker repeatedly draws exactly 24 candles per grasp with remarkable precision.
