Bill to Vacate Pyramid Lake lands for Indian Reservations
A long federal text proposes vacating and transferring land at Pyramid Lake and Walker River Reservations in Nevada to public use for irrigation and development. It authorizes a canal through public lands, a substantial fence, and proceeds to fund tribal settlement and education while ensuring Indian residence rights and tax arrangements. The measure includes compensation, allotment triggers, and a presidential proclamation for acceptance.
