Piute Chief Opposes Walker River Reservation Bill
Captain Dave Numana of the Piute Indians argues against Senator Stewart’s Walker River reservation dissolution plan. He warns the proposed irrigation canal would drain Truckee River water, dry Pyramid and Winnemucca lakes, and force Indians from their lands. He supports 110 acres at Wadsworth for a school and urges reopening the Wadsworth school while urging Washington officials to hear the red man’s view.
