1900 Men at Work in Sacramento Railroad Shops
A Bee reporter reports about 1,900 workers employed in the Southern Pacific Company's Sacramento shops. In addition to extensive repairs, twelve gondola cars, twenty-five oil cars, and one special car for mineral water are being built. Foundry iron work is active to supply back trimmings and other parts for the Atlantic system. The outlook is busy, with about 500 miners expected to join in the first week of April.
