Jerry Deal of the Job Corps public information office organized two public meetings in Waco to explain the Gary Center operations. The center offers 37 vocational courses and places trainees regionally with a two year maximum, many completing training in about a year. About 3,000 Corpsmen are at the Gary Center, with 2,440 having completed courses and awaiting placement.
