Concrete Block Held as Evidence Of HEB Burglary
A heavy battered concrete block weighing over twenty pounds was seized as evidence at the police property room. It broke a plate glass window at the HEP store 91 Kim Street East Waco. A carton of cigarettes disappeared from the store. Officers Dwaine Ray Olive and Ray Allen Griffin investigated the burglary and stored the evidence. city detectives will conduct further inquiries.

Mrs Behl Succumbs To Wounds In Tragic Death
Mrs Leona V Behl aged 47 of 1606 North Eleventh Street died at 3 45 am Monday in a local hospital from a gunshot wound in the kitchen scuffle that also involved her husband Fibert Behl who was arrested at the scene. An autopsy was ordered and results will follow. Funeral services will be at Wilkinson Hatch Funeral Home with Rev Charles H Cole officiating. burial place to be named later. Behl’s brother Robert and survivors including a sister Mrs Clara Castell and an aunt Mrs BE Terry. District Attorney Barney Walker moved the case from assault with intent to murder to murder. Mrs Behl was born in Battle Creek Michigan and had lived in Waco eight years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church.

Judge Rice Sentences Income Tax Violator in Waco
Prominent Austin businessman was sentenced by Federal Judge Ben Ho Rice in Waco to one year in prison and a 2500 fine for willful failure to file a 1956 income tax return.
