Clean Up Drive Plans Launched by Waco Beautification Council
Members of the Waco Civic Beautification Council met twice in the Bay lor Room of the Ramada Inn to organize the Clean-up Paint-up Fix-up Drive scheduled March 26 to April 2. Chairman Major Tom Nivens urged broad support and resources including money space and equipment. Rhea Cromwell of the Inspection department offered to open the dump ground for residents. Jennie Lennon a 21 year old nursing student from Knoxville Tennessee and senior at Baylor University Dallas made most of her clothes and was chosen by a Baylor panel to represent the university in Glamour magazine's contest naming the top 10 dressed college coeds in the nation. Lennon has been in Dallas training for two years and tutored science at the Waco State Home during her freshman and sophomore years.
