Steakley Brothers Chevrolet Agency Opens March 3 4 5
The Steakley Brothers Chevrolet Agency will hold its formal opening March 3 4 and 5 on North Fifth Street between Washington and Columbus. Door prizes of 50 silver dollars will be given to registrants during certain hours each day. The Steakleys recently bought out Waco Chevrolet from the Nash family and operate Cadillac and Chevrolet franchises in Cleburne and the Steakley Investment Company in Houston. Low Flying Planes Survey Austin Area For Radiation Study
Six US Geological Survey scientists and pilots received FAA waivers to fly at about 500 feet over the Austin Waco region from February 29 to about April 1. The DC-3 marked SURVEY will tow a magnetometer detector and carry a scintillation counter to map baseline radiological radiation levels.
