Boyd T Russell Named Jaycee of the Month for July
Boyd T Nick Russell of Waco was selected Jaycee of the Month for July by the Waco Junior Chamber of Commerce for leading the Teen Age Safe Driving Road-eo. Born in 1940 in Waco, he attended Waco schools, graduated from Waco High School in 1959, and studied at Baylor. He serves at St Pauls Episcopal Church as a Sunday school teacher and former Assistant Boy Scout Master. He lives at 1928 Austin Avenue and works at Duncan Buick. He joined the Jaycees in March, serves on the Board of Directors, was the current year's first SPOKE, and has chaired multiple Jaycee projects.

The 1962 Field Day at the Blackland Experimental Watershed Station at Riesel invites the public on Thursday July 26. Marijuana Head Gets 9-15 Year Sentences
Adam Bridge age 33 of 806 North Fifth was sentenced by Judge Bill Logue in the 19th District Court to nine 15 year terms for sale of narcotics and possession. The sentences run concurrently after he pleaded guilty to selling marijuana to J. T. Conley an agent in the narcotics division. Bridge acknowledged the lenience request after the proceedings.

De Cordova Bend Dam Planning Funds Approved
Congressman Ralph Yarborough says the Community Facilities Administration approved 140000 for initial planning of the De Cordova Bend Dam and Power House on the Brazos River in Texas. Brazos River Authority is applicant. project cost estimated at 19 million dollars with the dam in Hood County about 35 miles southeast of Fort Worth. More than 1,500,000 people live in the Brazos River watershed covering 52000 square miles. Construction is slated to begin in 1963.
