City Finances Boosted By Collection Of Delinquent Taxes
City tax collector F. E. Murrell reported to the Waco city council that 674195.82 in delinquent taxes was collected between April 12 1965 and July 1 1966 adding to 2020528.39 collected in the prior four years. The effort includes interest penalties and costs with 16222 letters sent in the last three months plus 48816 mailed earlier. The program credits Horace Bushenu and aides Dean Sedberry and Connie Dryburgh with results and notes plans to sell more Real Estate if taxes remain unpaid.
