Waco Suffers Major Fire at Elm Street Lumber Yard

A Wednesday afternoon blaze at the W E Darden Lumber yard on Elm Street in East Waco destroyed the yard and office, with books saved from the vault and trucks moved out. The fire began when an electric switch was worked on, drawing thousands of spectators while ten firefighters were hospitalized for heat exhaustion. William Darden, former Waco school board member, declined to outline future plans.

Blind Corner Continues Dangerous in East Waco

Waco readers report a dangerous blind corner on Dripping Springs road near the Pure Milk plant off Faulkner Lane. The latest crash at about 11:30 Saturday injured Ray Brown and Willie Simons. residents urge warning signs at the 90 degree turn toward Gholson road.

Revival Closes After Successful Community Church Services

Rev G P Comer of the Community Church at 510 N 13th St announces the closing of a highly successful revival. Evang Charles Massagee speaks tonight at 7 30 p m with services at 10 45 a m and 7 30 p m and adult classes at 9 30 a m Jimmy Snelen will sing and direct the music. Broadcasts air at 9 a m and 7 30 p m. Comer notes large crowds and invites friends to hear these outstanding workers.
