Waco Suffers Major Fire at Elm Street Lumber Yard
A Wednesday afternoon blaze at the W E Darden Lumber yard on Elm Street in East Waco destroyed the yard and office, with books saved from the vault and trucks moved out. The fire began when an electric switch was worked on, drawing thousands of spectators while ten firefighters were hospitalized for heat exhaustion.
