Attorney Woody Zachry filed a writ of habeas corpus in the 54th District Court. Vanda was originally freed on a $5,000 bond signed by Sam Jones and Woody Zachry. The district attorney sought to hold him without bond for first degree murder. Lowe was shot in the Snack Shack on South 26th Street after an argument. Vanda returned home, got his gun, and shot Lowe when he offered to call police.
