Colleges OK Credit Transfers From McLennan Junior College
McLennan County Junior College released survey results showing most Texas public and private colleges will accept transfer credits from the new junior college for the first year students with satisfactory grades. Baylor University and Paul Quinn College will accept transfer work. Rice University will only transfer once the junior college is fully accredited. Dr. Bell said students should not fear losing credits and should pursue appropriate courses toward their major. He will meet this week with Texas college accrediting officials in Fort Worth as a step toward accreditation, following a similar assurance from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Texas crime rate rose nine percent last year to 2,967.2 per 100,000, totaling 284,249 offenses, per Texas DPS Director Col. Homer Garrison.
