Midgets Edge Spirit Lake In Narrow Victory
Estherville trailed Spirit Lake most of Friday night as the Midgets fought back to win 6 to 0. Key plays centered on Elwood and Young with a late fourth-quarter drive ending in a one-foot line plunge for the decisive score. Benches cleaned late in the game as Spirit Lake fought hard to tie, but the Midgets held on to preserve their conference lead as Emmetsburg won.
