Realistic peace plan urged by Estherville speaker
Arthur J. Frithonel urged Estherville teachers to demand a realistic postwar settlement rather than idealism. He called for a bipartisan peace commission, warned against rash naval cuts, and stressed economic ethnological and political bases for any treaty. He urged U.S. strength and a world role beyond isolationism, noting December 7, 1941 changed American views.

Arthur Bringle, grandfather of six month old Rayniece Bringie, claims he deserves two Purple Hearts after attempting a three point landing while showing his granddaughter around the courthouse. He fell on one knee and both elbows injuring himself and tearing holes in his clothing. A doctor tended his bruises but would not mend the clothes.
