Lightning Strikes Dollyver District and Other Local Feats
A Tuesday lightning bolt struck Mrs. Fuss’s restaurant near the Hotel Orleans burning her face slightly as the bolt traveled along a light wire. A Dolliver cyclone then moved through the east part of town destroying barns with no injuries reported. Other notes include Miss Jennie Pingrey leaving Emmet county schools for Dows, Fred Dietz buying Hunt’s stock in Ringsted, and Raleigh postmaster appointment of Oscar Myhre. The river runs high and a frost appeared October 5.
