Complex Emmet County land suit seeks quiet title
In Emmet County District Court a long running case by Nele S Haggen seeks to quiet title to the north half of the southeast quarter and Lot 1 of Section 12 and Lot 1 of Section 13 in township 100 north range 38 west alleging chained heirs, multiple deed transfers, and adverse possession through a chain of title dating from 1860s through 1900s. The petition names many defendants including the unknown heirs of John A Brewster and various corporations and individuals and states Haggen claims fee simple ownership and asks for title to be quieted and for others to be barred from any claim. The case is set for the November 1919 term with default consequences if defendants fail to appear by noon on November 3 1919.
