Early Christian Bible Formation and Manuscript History
The article traces how New Testament books were selected and read in churches, noting priority given to the four Gospels and larger epistles, the uncertain status of Revelation and some John letters, and the non authoritative, usage-based process that fixed the canon. It discusses copying before printing, the need for multiple translations, and the fourth-century Sinaitic manuscript as an illustrative example. It also lists a long jumble of local names and notes from a community, including farm families and Sunday gatherings.
