Case committee of the Welfare League will meet Friday at seven o'clock in the welfare office basement of the courthouse. At eight o'clock the full membership convenes to lay plans for the winter months.
Mrs Eric Juhl will entertain the Stitch club at a six thirty dinner next Tuesday. Members of the club are Mesdames Jake Taylor, W. W. Watson, Herman Sorum, Emlet Twite, Mime Wertz, Carrie Henaman, Claus Clausen, Gertrude Webber, R. O. Clark, Eric Juhl and Anna ACC.
The Degree of Honor will hold a regular meeting at the IOOF hall on Friday November 24 at 8 pm An initiation class and a drill team exhibition are planned All officers and members are urged to attend Mrs Zelma Rowe and Mrs Joe Pannell are on the entertainment committee
Mrs Cavanaugh was honored at a post nuptial shower Tuesday evening at Miss Marjorie Dow home. Bunco prize went to Mrs Frank Ramsey and refreshments followed on a Thanksgiving themed table. Gifts were presented to Mrs Cavanaugh by the group including several named guests.

Mrs W H Warrington Mrs Marie Niemoth and Mrs Pickens are hostesses. Chief entertainment will be a mock wedding with Mrs Oliver Langmo as bride and Mrs Glenn Lesher as groom.
Mr and Mrs C Alt entertain a group for a six thirty dinner tonight. The guests include Mr and Mrs D B Knudsen Mr and Mrs Wm Hendricksen Mr and Mrs Eugene Foster Mr and Mrs Frank Koch and Mr and Mrs G M Donovan.
Elks Lodge No 628 will host a Charity Ball on Wednesday evening December 6 with proceeds benefitting the annual Christmas Children's Fund. Exalted Ruler Geo Booth appointed James H McGrath as chairman, with Parker Bennett and Harry Golla as assistants. Rollo Sissell and his orchestra will perform as tickets are limited to members due to high demand. In other notes, local Odd Fellows attended a Great Lakes Association meeting in Spirit Lake with twelve lodge members, displaying second degree work by the Spirit Lake team and refreshments served. next association meeting planned for Estherville in January.
St Johns Lutheran parsonage in Dunnell Minnesota hosted a coffee party Wednesday afternoon with Mesdames C W Appelquist Martin Hall John Marcus R Theobald and Rudolph Matthies attending. Two Dunnell bachelors B B Peterson and William Axling headed south for annual Florida trip planning Iowa City and Des Moines stops en route to St Petersburg for Thanksgiving reunion with old friends. Mary Bradford dining room hosts a Thanksgiving gathering with Peter Rose and relatives from Welcome Silver Lake and nearby areas.
