Resignation of Supt B F Crean Triggers City Council Debate
The city council adjourned meeting drew a large crowd amid talk of economy and a proposed three headed consolidation of city offices including city clerk light and water plant and street commissioner. Mayor Groves read B F Croan s resignation from the light and water plant effective June 10 and the body debated committees and officer elections with no firm action. Alderman Anderson and others pressed for an open committee of the whole to review salaries and officer appointments while the mayor ruled actions out of order amid a vote tied on adjournment and ongoing discussion about filling the street commissioner and city engineer posts.
