Coal declaration rules jumble for Bennett area dealers
Vern Kohl area director of the solid fuel administration explains that consumers who file coal declarations by May 15 will gain priority to reserve coal for next year. The policy allows limited extra purchases in certain regions and relaxes some quotas to help stock up for next winter, though no more than 80 percent of a normal year's supply can be delivered after April 17.
