University of Iowa to offer eight week Red Cross welfare course
The university will run an eight week program beginning in June and ending August 17 to train women for home welfare and frontline support rather than nursing. Experts from medicine, nursing, home economics, and social welfare will teach elementary hygiene dressings and neighborhood sanitation. The course aims to prepare workers for relief work, hospital support, and community services for soldiers and dependents with potential further training for Red Cross nurse aids.
