Buffalo fish trade fuels state institutions in 300000 pound catch

The Spirit Lake Beacon notes the Fish and Game Department handled over 300000 pounds of buffalo from West Okoboji Lake during the past winter. About eighty fishers used nets, paid five cents per pound on the lake, and sold the catch statewide to cover handling costs. The industry benefits lakes, keeps food costs down, and places earnings with local fishermen. Forecast: showers early, then fair with little temperature change for May 6 to 11. LibertyLoan list follows with numerous local contributors.
