Thompson prize system spurs Iowa farm improvement
Burt J Thompson of Forest City financed a multi farm contest across Winnebago County, awarding $50 to Ralph Rich, $80 to Andrew Austin, and $20 split for a tie between Harry Steffanson and W H Olzon. Awards motivate betterstead, with a repeat plan for this year as high schools expand vocational agriculture under state and federal support.
