Invisible Greenbacks The Way Inflation Will Come
Editorial by Harry Sherman in The Saturday Evening Post argues that inflation follows from increasing money supply and that buying War Savings Bonds reduces new money creation. It explains mechanisms of bank deposits, Treasury funding, and the role of taxes and savings, urging widespread bond purchases and spending cuts to curb inflation while noting potential savings in nonwar expenditures.

Dusts to Kill Garden Pests in Victory Gardens
Two pest categories require different dusts to protect crops. Leaf eaters respond to gypsum and calcium arsenate dust, while juice drinkers resist with tobacco dust enhanced by nicotine sulphate. Rotenone, pyrethrum, and arsenate of lead offer sprays or dusts, with tobacco dust repelling aphids. Apply at dawn or dusk, when wind is light and dew is present.
