West Bend Priest Loses in Law Suit
Graettinger Times reports Rev. P. M. Dobberstein of West Bend was awarded 7500 dollars in a federal court in Fort Dodge. Marie Helfer of Chicago sued for 15000 and Dobberstein's counter claim of 25000 was rejected by the judge. The case centered on a 1929 road accident on Federal highway No 20 near Dubuque involving a Graettinger truck driven by Donald Slaven. Dobberstein, asleep in the cab, lost sight in one eye and endured months in a hospital. Slaven testified the Chicago car came at high speed on the wrong side. The judge did not allow the counter claim to go to jurors. Dobberstein’s 25000 damages claim may be pursued in a future proceeding.

Witty quip on pictures and radio ads ends on sigh
