At the January 10 1934 annual meeting held in Estherville Iowa the Farmers Mutual Fire and Lightning Insurance Association of Emmet and adjoining counties renewed its incorporation for twenty years from February 24 1934 to February 24 1954. S B Reed as President and P A Gaarde as Secretary are authorized to sign acknowledge and file the renewal and publish notice. The renewal Articles of Incorporation provide for a nine member board to govern the association with officers elected annually and establish terms and duties including audit and by laws. The instrument is sworn before a notary and approved by the Iowa Commissioner of Insurance.
