Walking Corn Crib Sees Hog Price Insight at Market

At Waukon Iowa on June 14 Pred Stillwell sold a 600 pound hog for 72 dollars, a price high relative to corn. Hog gains imply about 66 bushels of corn worth roughly 36 dollars today, per Iowa Agricultural Department figures. The department warns hog prices may fall after large corn crops and advocates balanced production and better winter and summer feeding. A.V.R notes cows should be fed well with alfalfa and promotes milk production in farming.
