Miss Lena McDonald of Eagle Grove visits Mrs. Hannah Wade at the Joe Prochaska home. Dr. and Mrs. Frank Roberts of Town City call on A. C. Bringle. Englestads from Warren, Minnesota, stay with C. O. Anderson and Opheim. Various showers, blesssing celebrations, and weekend visits populate the week. Several couples attend funerals in Spencer and Sibley. Elevators painted at Milford. Summer visits and local farm notes in Nashua area

WEST EMMET J. A. Richards of Nashua visits his daughter Mrs Irving Martens this summer after returning last Wednesday. Farm activity includes Henry Dewall shelling corn for Case brothers delivered to the Superior elevator. Several residents attend the Farm Bureau picnic at Ft Defiance state park last Wednesday. Verlyn Brown earns a Towa letter for an average above 90 at county eighth grade graduation. Local trips include Spirit Lake fishing and visits to Dunnell and Sibley. Many families, including the Dewalls and Martens, host or visit relatives this weekend and summer.

Local club hosts and plans summer gatherings

Mrs Jens Bimonsen led Midway Country Club members and guests at her home on Tuesday afternoon June 6. Ann Dallie will host the next meeting on July 10 with an ice cream social at the August Rosenberger home on June 25. Center Club hosted at Mrs Henry Peterson's home last Wednesday with most members present. A picnic at Fox Lake is planned for Sunday July 15 for members and families. The Grover Presbyterian Sunday school holds its annual picnic at Turtle Lake this week. Mrs Henry Whitacre and daughter Henrietta returned from Dallas Center. A Farm Bureau picnic and eighth grade commencement were held at Ft Defiance park last Wednesday. The Nelsons and their daughter visited the Appel home in Graettinger. the Shooks and Charlie Carey from Spencer visited J K Carey, who will work on the Shook farm. Initiation at Eastern Star included A C Andrews, Margaret Moulds, George Kenline and O L Wickens Monday night. M L Hatch and wife visited Sheldon Sunday. Mary Alice Carey works in the Morris Zalk home in Estherville. Julius Ingebretsen and family drove to Swea City for a weekend visit with his parents. his sister returned with them.

Local residents gather for fairs, visits, and notices

Numerous Emmet county families and friends are listed with visits, travels, and events. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grant plan to move to Nora Junction after July 1 where he will work as telegraph operator. A June 27 gathering hosted by the Triple C's at Mrs. Tom Flood's in Varina is noted, along with many weekend visits, family dinners, and 4-H club activities. Several illnesses, births, and birthday events are mentioned, plus community church activities and a quilt exhibit by the Huntington Ladies Aid.
