Emmet County Board Rejects Rent Payments For Relief Holders
Tuesday the Emmet county supervisors voted to stop guaranteeing house rent for relief recipients during summer. The resolution urges able bodied persons to seek work and notes failure to do so may affect county aid. The board supports a state employment office in Estherville, with Glenn Brockway explaining Iowa employment service work. If approved, Estherville would host a central office serving five counties. The Wagner Pest act seeks 11 new offices in Iowa, replacing prior setups. The office would occupy the upstairs of the old city hall with two staffers to manage placements for men and women.
