A Public Service Committee and partners outline warning signs used by promoters to mislead investors. Key red flags include big returns promises, prominent names, ground floor appeals, inside information, artificial price advances, aggressive telephone canvassing, unselfish promoter claims, guaranteed profits, reorganization and mergers, partial payments, appeals to prejudice, false security real estate slogans, mining and oil speculation, and invention delusions.
