Cutlhé Ran Falls Here Overcast Weekend Precipitation
Overcast skies yielded scant rain for Estherville and surrounding areas over the weekend. Four days of trace to modest precipitation totaled about half an inch with a .22 inch Sunday downpour, and 28 inch Friday with .02 inch Saturday reports. Temperatures cooled to comfortable levels as other northwest Iowa and southern Minnesota regions saw beneficial rains for corn. Most small grains are harvested. a long heat spell harmed corn, especially on light soils. Pastures are poor from bluegrass maturity, heat, and drought. Official temps since last Thursday from Mrs. Jos. Orvis.
