Des Moines Iowa weather report for the week ending July 20 1908 notes generally favorable conditions for farm work and crop growth with normal to slightly above normal temperatures and abundant sunshine. Rainfall varied from none in the southwest to over seven inches in Fayette county, with heavy showers and some severe local downpours in the east and northeast. Haying and harvesting progressed rapidly, threshing began in southeastern counties, and yields for rye wheat and oats were light in some areas while corn progressed unevenly.
